Beautiful kitchen floor

Low set Post War renovation

Make or Break you....

Looking at all the time and effort we have put into our four year old home, thought it was about time I put some inspiration of my own out there.  It is very difficult trying to find examples of low set post war sympathetic renovations out there in blogland without totally getting lost...

Everyone else seems to have more money, more experience and definitely more inspiration.  Thank goodness for facebook sites, Pinterest, Home Beautiful, Better Homes and Gardens and blogland.

Nothing like paint - paint covers a multitude of sins and that is where we started with some absolutely hilarious results...

  • Never believe that the colour printed on the outside of the spray can is actually going to be the colour you are looking for.
  • Dont spray your tiles - the paint peels off (we sprayed our pink kitchen tiles - twice) and eventually had to redo the tiling job anyway
  • Why would you paint at night - wait until the next day - the colour is alarmingly deceptive when light and shadows are thrown in.
  • Live in your home for 12 months before doing major renovations - you may regret a hasty decision
  • Prime - prime and prime and buy expensive paint - it lasts longer.....

Our first job - removing the lino in the kitchen to reveal a beautiful timber floor...
